Oral day 4
PICTURE:
This picture depicts a scene of a group wheelchair-bounded people boarding a bus which is specially designed for disabled people who travels in wheelchairs. The door of the bus is wider than normal travel buses so that the wheelchairs are able to get through. There is also a ramp so that people can push the wheelchair up the bus.
In the centre of the picture, there is a disabled man is being pushed up by a man in t-shirt. The disabled man instead of smiling happily like the woman behind him, he was frowning slightly. I guess he is an independent man who does not like to rely on other for help as he did not accept the help of the out-stretched hand of the man on the bus and also his hands were on the wheels of the wheelchair, making an effort to push himself up the ramp. I guess the man on the bus does not belong to the voluntary organization for disabilities as he did not wear a tag unlike the others.
The woman, also in wheelchair, is waiting to the man to board the bus. She smiled happily and seemed quite excited. I guess this might be the first time she is boarding a bus ever since she is disabled.
I think after they had board the bus, they would be brought to places of interest for visiting. I believe that moving about in wheelchair is very inconvenient for them, thus they might have not been to many places since they are disabled. I think the voluntary organizations wanted the disabled to be exposed to the outside world and see how the world had changed over the years.
CONVERSATION:
2) I think we should protect natural habitats and looking after wildlife. We only have one mother Earth. Earth is not only the home of humans, but also animals and plants. The most direct effect of destroying natural habitats is killing plants. These natural habitats are homes of animals, they will too be affected. Plants and animals are killed, might even extinct. The effects will eventually hit us, humans. Increasing amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is the best prove. It takes millions of years let a forest to form, but only days to clear the whole forest. I think we are destroying nature faster than it can replace itself. The number of natural habitats and wildlife is depleting, and it is not a good sign. Although there are many side effects of damaging nature, I still think developments of cities are important. We should still develop cities, but in ways that does not harm the earth, or damage nature in order to progress. Researches are finding other ways of getting energy instead of burning fuels that causes pollutions, such as the use of solar energy. I believe that is a good start and the attitude of trying to protect mother Earth should continue.
